How to Maintain Cushion Flooring so it Lasts 10 years!

Sincol’s cushion floors (also called vinyl sheet flooring) are durable and low-maintenance, but they’ll last much longer and look better if you follow proper care and cleaning routines.
Here’s a full care guide for Sincol Big Ace / Ponleum and similar cushion floors:

🧽 Routine Cleaning

Frequency What to Do Details
Daily / Weekly Sweep or vacuum Use a soft broom or a vacuum with a hard-floor setting (no beater bar) to remove dust, sand, and grit that can scratch the surface.
Weekly / Fortnightly Damp mop Use warm water and a mild neutral-pH floor cleaner (like “Mr Ken,” “Neutral Detergent,” or Japanese “Yashinomi”). Avoid harsh or alkaline products.
Occasionally Rinse and dry After mopping, rinse the floor with clean water and dry with a soft towel to prevent detergent film or water spots.

🧴 For Stains

Type How to Remove
Food, drinks, mud Neutral detergent + warm water
Ink, crayon, shoe polish Mild neutral cleaner or diluted household alcohol (1:10 water ratio) on a soft cloth
Scuff marks Use a white vinyl eraser or rub gently with a damp cloth and neutral cleaner
Oil or grease Wipe with detergent first, then rinse with clean water
