Joint compound like Gyprock
Wall preparation (critical)

Wall must be:
-
Flat
-
Dry
-
Dust-free
-
-
If painted:
-
Lightly sand (180–240 grit) to de-gloss
-
Wipe clean
-
⚠️ MagMagic must not be applied to glossy or dirty paint.
Dry-fit the panels
-
Place panels on wall without adhesive
-
Check:
-
Alignment
-
Gaps
-
Panel layout
-
-
Mark panel outlines lightly in pencil
⚠️ Panels cannot be cut, so layout comes first.
Apply adhesive (correct pattern) adhesive or (screws).

Apply adhesive to back of panel, not wall
-
Use:
-
Vertical beads 30–40 mm apart
-
Keep beads away from edges (prevents squeeze-out)
-
Use the leveller to install evenly.
Fix panel to wall
-
Press panel firmly into position
-
Slide slightly left/right to wet the adhesive
-
Use:
-
Roller
-
Flat board + body weight
-
Panel must sit perfectly flat
Hold & cure
Low-tack painter’s tape to keep up while glue is installed
-
Allow to cure:
-
24 hours minimum
-
48 hours ideal before finishing
-
Feather the edges
Apply very thin joint compound plaster at panel edges
-
Do not coat entire panel
-
Sand lightly once dry
⚠️ Thick filler reduces magnetic strength
Wallpaper/paint finish

Apply very thin wallpaper as normal (paint preferable as it's thinner)/
-
Avoid:
-
Thick foam wallpaper
-
Heavily textured vinyl
